Topshop for Adidas Originals Lookbook Preview

In my days as a college student, I practically lived in sneakers and sportswear. I didn't follow trends, buy a lot of apparel, or dress up often like I do now, since comfort and keeping up with my busy schedule took priority for me. The one thing I did buy in bulk as a student? Sneakers, especially Adidas shell toes. Now that my college days are behind me, I have a strong interest in both sportswear and style, so naturally, the new Topshop x Adidas Originals collection is on my radar.

For the 20-piece collection, which launches on March 20, Topshop reimagined some key Adidas pieces, including sweatshirts, tracksuits, and sneakers. It's the ideal blend of stylish and sporty elements, and just in time for the revival of laid-back 1990s-inspired activewear that the fashion crowd can't get enough of right now. (Stan Smith sneakers anyone?) Price points range from $40 to $150, so looking stylish while working out (or adding an activewear element to your everyday style) won't be too hard on the wallet (unless you buy it all).

Below, a selection of my top picks, which, if you're looking to shop, will be available on the websites of
Topshop, Nordstrom, and Adidas, as well as in all Topshop stores and select Adidas stores.

Target Trendspotting - Festival Essentials

We're well into March, and spring festival season is upon us. Even if you're not attending any of the major music festivals, there's inspiration to be found in the laid-back looks that prevail at the likes of Coachella and Outside Lands. Key items to wear to get the relaxed look? Sun protection in the form of a hat, sunblock, and sunglasses are key, as are light layers for changes in the weather. Other essentials include a bag that frees up your hands for dancing, eating, and Instagramming, and easy-on-the-feet boots that protect your toes from spills or from being stepped on by overzealous music enthusiasts.

Keeping comfort in mind, I've styled a look with embellished shorts, a breezy tank, and a printed kimono to channel a nostalgic boho vibe. Click on each item to shop the post.

Fashion Finds and Favorites at MAGIC Market Week

There's so much to see and do at MAGIC Market Week that it can be overwhelming, albeit in a good way. Imagine thousands upon thousands of square feet of clothing, accessories, and footwear. I think of the trade show floor as a fashion wonderland of sorts. Practically anything that you can imagine wearing is represented somewhere in the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. As I walk the aisles and take everything in, I'm always inspired by something, whether it's a chic satchel, a fun piece of jewelry, or a flirty spring dress. Below, see some of the trends I spotted, new brand discoveries, and items that left a lasting impression.

Melie Bianco spring 2014 handbags

Above, Melie Bianco's booth is a welcome riot of color and print. The best part about the handbags is that they look luxe but are actually priced affordably, meaning that you can grab a chic bag without sacrificing a hard-earned paycheck.

3-D floral fashion trend for 2014

3-D florals became a recurring theme for spring 2014, with tactile designs blossoming on everything from clutches and earrings to flirty dresses. I can't stop thinking about these earrings, which are an easy way to incorporate the trend.

Dear John Denim for 2014

L.A.-based Dear John Denim showed another strong collection, proving that jeans are anything but plain and boring. As a frequent denim wearer, I found it hard to select a favorite pair, but the slightly slouchy floral styles are still near and dear to my heart.

pink is trendy for 2014

Pantone may have named Radiant Orchid as the color of the year for 2014, but pink in all shades from fuchsia to neon prevailed on the trade show floor. This typically feminine color injects fun to flirty tops and dresses, while adding playfulness to serious oxfords and a studded satchel. Clockwise from top left: The House of Perna, Nuvula, Carrano, and Hot & Delicious

Hips and Hair graphic T-shirts

Hips and Hair's tongue-in-cheek graphic prints are a wink to the fashion industry in easy-to-wear tees and tanks. Just add distressed denim and a carefree attitude.

blush tones and open knits

Open knits and blush tones make for laid-back layers and effortless spring style. From left to right: Blu Pepper, Potter's Pot, and Very J.

neon fashion trend 2014

Although the buzz amongst trend forecasters was that pastels are strong colors year round (because seasonless dressing is taking hold), neons are still giving hushed hues some competition. Whether in saturated floral prints or ombré  iterations, their brightness is hard to ignore. Clockwise, from top left: The Camden Street, Lulumari, The House of Perna, and Beautifully.

Gypsy Junkies jewelry and Pamela Barsky accessories

Let your accessories make a statement with these sure conversation starters including cheeky pouches by Pamela Barsky or oversized rings by L.A. favorite Gypsy Junkies
