Target Trendspotting - The Sequin Pencil Skirt

It's the sold out sequin pencil skirt that has ladies all over Instagram going crazy. When I tried it on at Target, the enthusiastic fitting room attendant was raving about how she saw photos of it and fell in love with the high-waist silhouette. I love it too! Why do I adore it? The midi length makes it demure, while the matte gray sequins add a major glam factor. You might think it's an evening piece, but I think it's much more versatile. So in this Target Trendspotting feature, I'm going to show you how to dress it up or dress it down.

Both looks make use of layering with print and texture. When styling the skirt, don't be afraid to juxtapose casual with dressy elements to add personality to the ensemble. For the dressy look, be bold by pairing a bomber jacket in a vibrant print with sequins, but keep the accessories minimal so the focus remains on the clothes. For the casual look, flat sneakers in lace-up and slip-on styles are especially on-trend this spring, and they pair well with dressy skirts for a look that's equal parts polished and sporty.
