The Look for Less - Chloé Rylee Boot Dupes

With the success of the beloved Chloé Susanna boots, it seems fitting that the newest ankle boot by Chloé is also adored by bloggers and celebrities. Chloé expertly strikes the right balance of easy chic and embellished details that drives street style and retail trends season after season. The new Chloé Rylee boot is a tough-looking style with a nod to Western vibes. It features a Cuban heel, sleek cut outs, and a lace-up construction. The Rylee boots come in a variety of colors, including snake prints. There are also low-cut and knee-high styles, making the boot a versatile and sought-after style for all seasons. With price points upwards of $900, they are a serious purchase to consider.

Here's how Chrissy Teigen, Margot Robbie, and Sienna Miller wear their Rylee boots.

They pair well with short skirts, midi dresses, and flirty dresses, but I can also imagine them with cropped denim, skinny trousers, or leggings.

The Look for Less - Givenchy Elegant Studded Boot Dupes

Now that it's fall, it's officially boot buying season. I've always been partial to a badass pair of studded ankle boots, so it's no wonder that the Givenchy Elegant studded boots have caught my attention. They've been around for a while and they return season after season due to their popularity and versatility. Also known as the Prue boot in 2019, the black leather and suede versions are undoubtedly gorgeous, but have you seen them in red, in white, in pastel pink, in grey suede, in tan suede, and in floral? They are simultaneously sleek and rebellious with their tough combat silhouette, micro studs, and multi-buckle design.

How to wear them? I love them juxtaposed against a flirty mini skirt, toughened up with shredded denim, or styled with leather leggings for an insouciant rock 'n' roll vibe as seen by the street style stars below. They would also be stunning if styled with a dark floral midi dress for a casual daytime look.

The Look for Less - Stella McCartney Elyse Platform Oxford Dupes

Stella McCartney's Elyse platform oxfords didn't immediately strike my fancy this fall, but the more I see them on bloggers and celebrities (including the designer herself), the more they're growing on me. I'd definitely describe them as shoes that your boyfriend or husband is highly unlikely to love. On the bright side, they offer a boost of height without the pain of heels. So what's the appeal? Perhaps the mix of a sporty sole, sustainable wood platform wedge, and lace-up oxford upper is both nerdy and unexpected.

Summer Solstice Style in Santa Barbara

Along with thousands of cheerful parade-goers, I welcomed the official start of summer and the longest day of the year by attending the Summer Solstice Parade and Festival today in Santa Barbara. As the afternoon progressed, the normally pristine and reasonably quiet sidewalks of State Street grew busy as people of all ages lined up to stake out a prime parade-watching spot. Colorful decorations including confetti eggs, butterfly wings, and floral headbands made many appearances during the festivities. My favorite street style trends included tie-dye tees, peasant tops, short cutoff shorts, skimpy jersey sundresses, gladiator sandals, and fringed handbags. This is one of the few days in Santa Barbara where you can get away with wearing a multi-colored jester hat, a tulle tutu, a feather boa, or bright yellow tights without being given a dirty look.

After watching the parade, it was time to seek refuge from the heat and grab a bite to eat at Tupelo Junction, which has amazing Southern-inspired cuisine and even serves breakfast all day. After walking around the festival, I couldn't resist popping inside Crushcakes Cupcakery (on Anacapa St.) to satisfy my sweet tooth. With flavors such as strawberry blush and peanut butter cup, I knew I was in cupcake heaven. What's a summer afternoon without a small sugary indulgence that practically melts in your mouth? You gotta love Santa Barbara...

Happy summer to my readers in the Northern Hemisphere!
