Like Carrie Bradshaw, I may not know men, but I do know shoes. A quick glance at my bedroom floor is a testament to my not-so-little little footwear addiction. Although my shoe preferences may lean towards the humble ankle boot, I've also got a weakness for heels. So naturally, I paid a visit to Nordstrom to shop and review Sarah Jessica Parker's debut collection of shoes called SJP Collection, which launched today at select Nordstrom stores (see which ones here) and on Nordstrom's website. With signature details such as grosgrain ribbon, delicate straps, and classic silhouettes, the Italian-made shoes strike the right balance between professional and ladylike, with price points ranging from $195 to $485.

November 17, 2016 update - Shop the new SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker capsule collection at net-a-porter.
The store I visited didn't have a crowd, and I only saw one other shopper trying on the SJP heels during my time in Salon Shoes. I didn't see any of the bags or trench coats in the collection, but I did try on a few shoes. Below, a print mixing look featuring the Brigitte sandal (similar to the Rina sandal) in a pretty shade of shiny crimson.
Below, the Slim peep-toe pumps (similar to the silver Ursula heels) in bronze. Flashing back to the days of SATC, if Samantha Jones were to wear any shoe from the collection, I think this would be it. A little bit of metallic glam is right up Samantha's alley.
I'd select the Tanny ankle strap pumps below as the #1 shoe that Miranda Hobbs would wear. These heels would look just as chic styled with a skirt suit in the boardroom as with a floaty chiffon dress at a neighborhood bistro.
I can imagine Charlotte York pairing the disco-esque Maud heels with a very preppy shift dress. They have just enough detail to elevate a conservative outfit.
The scalloped detail on the Bobbie sandals caught my eye, and the soft coral color is actually quite versatile. I also love them in mint. Why not pair them with navy, beige, white, or sunflower yellow. They also come in a stylish flat version.
The Anna sandal is a classic silhouette in a fun shade of coral that's a great alternative to red or pink. I think this style is a classic that'll transcend seasonal trends.
Below is Carrie Bradshaw's namesake heel, with a dainty T-strap and pointy silhouette. Note the grosgrain ribbon on the back. It comes in many colors including nude, black, purple, pink, and white. Shop it in nude or black, in hot pink or teal, or in silver.
I tried it on in the nude colorway, and it runs large. Due to its pointy shape, I recommend going down a half size. I could've even gone down a full size, since there was gapping in the back when I went down half a size. I found the construction to be great, and it was more comfortable than I expected. The pointy shape is flattering to the leg, and the skinny straps are ideal for slimming the ankle.
Since I'm partial to ankle boots, the Alison boot is my top pick in the SJP Collection. Unfortunately, it's also the priciest. Check it out in a chic shade of black leather or crisp white leather.
I tried it on and was thankful for the inside zip. I found it to be narrow in the toe box, but the laces allow some room for adjustment. I recommend going half a size up if your feet are wide. I appreciated the ankle support, sturdy construction, and stitching details. These are the kind of boots that go with almost everything in my closet.
I also tried on the feminine Etta heels in pink mauve. If Carrie Bradshaw herself were a shoe, this would be it. The flower detail brings to mind the oversized flower that SJP's beloved character pinned to her tops.
The Etta runs true to size and felt the most comfortable of all the styles I tried on. This style comes in half sizes (except 41.5). I might've fallen in love. Cue Carrie Bradshaw's voice saying "Hello, lover!" I can imagine these with a printed wrap dress and moto jacket or even with a silk blouse and cuffed skinny boyfriend jeans.
Unfortunately, my store didn't stock the flip flops, espadrilles, or the bow pumps, which appeared cute and comfortable in the lookbook. If you shopped the collection, share your favorites with me on Twitter and let me know if you have any questions!
If you're going to shop the collection and you want to have Sarah Jessica Parker herself sign your heels, here's a list of Nordstrom stores that she'll be visiting. Happy shoe shopping!
