April is looking good! The Milly for DesigNation at Kohl's collection launches on April 23, and having browsed the recently released lookbook, I'm already planning my wish list (which gets longer by the day). The colorful collection, which is inspired by Capri, includes everything from floral frocks and cute jumpsuits to on-trend boxy blouses and ladylike skirts. You're in luck if you love Milly because the Milly for Kohl's line channels signature Milly by Michelle Smith design details. For example, cute skirt sets, painterly prints, and vacation-perfect pieces reminiscent of the Milly runway dominate the Kohl's collection. To show just how true this collection is to the Milly aesthetic, I've selected a few of my top picks from the Milly for Kohl's line and compared them to recent Milly runway looks. Here's a closer look.
The monochromatic skirt sets above both feature sheer details, A-line silhouettes, and crop tops. Head scarf optional. Pictured above on the left: sheer yoke top, $44 and organza full skirt, $60.
Bold red florals on a pale background are the name of the game for both of the looks above. A contrasting waistband or black belt add definition to the waist, while a form-fitting skirt silhouette and high heels add instant glamour. Pictured above on the left: ciao bella tee, $40 and bougainvillea skirt, $50.
The fun floral print and crisp tailoring on the outfit above on the left echoes this blue floral print look from spring 2012. The Kohl's collection also features a jumpsuit in this print which is on my wish list. Pictured above on the left: monofloral tank top, $40 and printed soft pants, $54.
Digital mirror prints give both of these mini dresses a bold and modern appeal. What sets them apart is the price. (There's also a pencil skirt in the Kohl's collection with this print.) Pictured above on the left: engineered tank dress, $68.
Sheer details, boxy tops, and full skirts makes these looks similar. The Milly spring 2015 version of the skirt is $495. Pictured above on the left: sheer yoke top, $44 and organza full skirt, $60.
Channel the relaxed and colorful feel of Capri in an effortless way with floral cropped pants. Just add a black top for Jackie O. inspiration. Pictured above on the left: printed capri pants, $48.
Print mixing at its finest. Take a classic black and white stripe, add a cheerful yellow print, and voilĂ ! The result is artsy and playful. (There's also a lemon print tee in the collection for $40.) Pictured above on the left: villafranca tank dress, $68.
Bustier styling and pencil skirts scream bombshell glamour. I can't wait to get my hands on this Milly for Kohl's floral number. It reminds me of her spring 2015 main line dress. Pictured above on the left: bustier midi dress, $74 (online only).
The collection launches April 23, and even includes a few dresses for girls in sizes 4-6X.
